TASK

For this assignment, we were asked to create a visual publication book with our dissertation. This could help us take a break from writing and it's fun to do. Below is my first draft of the mood board that I didn't follow.

After that, Dr. Hayati had given me comments on my moodbaord, so I had changed my style. Below is my final ebook of visual design dissertation.

week 10

• the mood board is fine but I could explore different styles to select the best one.

• I need to be careful with the color chosen to avoid bright colors that are hard to be seen in the book. 

• can try different text alignment for book design

week 11

• I could create different book cover designs based on the style I have now, to have a variation of work to choose from. 

• can try to look at different styles from Pinterest

• remember that the book is read by adults so the design could target adults as well

week 12

• can try to play around with the sizing and placing with the text

• try not to use the red color as background because it’s a bit hard to read

• need to be careful on the kerning and avoid awkward spacing when using the center alignment

REFLECTION

week 9

In this week, I think I am a bit lost because I couldn’t find the style that I want, I found a lot of references on how children’s book illustration is like. How they place the content.

week 10

I had done a few pages and tried a different style, I like the current style much more than the previous one. I had also watched some tutorials on how to add the texture to make it feel more sketchy.

week 11

From the base on the style and illustration, I have ideas on creating small storytelling illustrations. However, my progression is too slow compare to the deadline given. I hope I could manage my time wisely next time, to meet the due deadline.

week 12

This week, I think my book design is a little bit too empty and some of the layouts should be changed. I also noticed that arranging the layout first and planning the visual at the same time will be faster than drawing and arranging the layout together.
