LECTURE NOTES
week 1 (5.1.2020)

fig 1.1 Exercises and assignment brief slides (5..2021)

Ms. Anis briefed us about our exercises and assignment today. We went through the slides and Module information booklet as well.  Before class, while I read through the TiMes , I created an google drive folder for this module.

week 2 (12.1.2021)
For this week, Ms. Anis gave us our exercise 1 and said that if you are done with exercise 1, you could proceed with exercise 2.

Exercise 1
week 1 (1.5.2021)

fig 2.2 planning for exercise 1 (12.1.2021)

At the first week, I had choose candy as my subject for exercise 1, but I think its too common and I saw a lot of my classmate had used that, so I want to try to find something that are more interesting. After that, I had found a box of teddy bear toys collections in my room to use. So, I came up with a planning with that using Miro.

fig 2.3 second attempt on placing  (12.1.2021)

fig 2.4 second attempt on placing in different perspective  (12.1.2021)

After that, I had my challenge of how to place it onto A4 paper because there were 20 of the bears and A4 paper are too small to fit them in with I need to write information about it and it is hard to present it in 1 photo.

fig 2.5 Final outcome (15.1.2021)

After suggestion of Ms. Anis, I arranged it according from small to big and from light to dark. As you can see a same group of bears their hands is on each others shoulder and the one who are 1 bears in a group they will raise their hand. I think this is kind of cute ;)
For this attempt, I capture the picture and draw it digitally because if  I draw it manually, the information would be blocked by the bears or their clothes, so I think its better if I know the negative space and I wrote it there, so that the information would not be blocked, I also asked Ms. Anis about this and she is ok with it.

Exercise 2
 week 2 (11.1.2021)
We need to come out with an A4 infographic poster with the topic we choose. At first, I wanted to chose other things than Pokémon as Ms. Anis said she is tired of seeing Pokémon at every semester but I realized that I am not so familiar with other things, so I ended up doing Pokémon hahaha.

Fig 2.6 Pokémon LATCH planning (19.1.2021)

I went website, collect the data and plan it out using Miro app. I wrote down what Pokémon I am using and also the LATCH theory about Pokémon.

fig 2.7 research and mood board slides (19.1.2021)

After that, I did a research and mood board using Canva to have a clearer picture of what I want to do.

fig 2.8 visual reference map of Pokémon Kanto (19.1.2021)

I think this is the original Pokémon Kanto map, so I used this as my reference for the locations.

fig 2.9 final sketch chosen (19.1.2021)

fig 2.10 progression (20.1.2021)

fig 2.11 progression (20.1.2021)

fig 2.12 first attempt (19.1.2021)

This is my first attempt, I sent this to my friend for feedback and she said I could make the color stand out more and also try to make the overall color not so dull.

fig 2.13 final outcome (20.1.2021)

This is my final outcome. I changed the color to let it stand out more and clearer about the information, I also added a short description about this infographic. I had included the description of the type of the Pokémon because I think the star is a little bit uneasy to recognize. I also used the color to clarify the type of the Pokémon according to their power type.

FEEDBACK
week 2
it will be hard for me to capture, arrange it from small to big will be better and make sure the information is clear. After I sent my final attempt, Ms. Anis said that it is ok.

week 3
Ms. Anis said that my Pokémon infographic is really good, she could see all the information clear and well done!

REFLECTION
week 1 ( 8.1.2021)
Experience: After Ms. Anis brief us about our exercise and assignment, I started to feel excited because I am interested in how I will do it assignments later.
Observation: As I did the exercise, I found that it is quite fun to arrange things accordingly.
Finding: I found that it is always useful to plan before you do anything to avoid any mistake.

week 2 (15.1.2021)
Experience: As I chose the bears as my object to do, I found it is so cute and I enjoy doing it. I had keep them at the same spot in my living hall for a few days just to capture the sunlight on it hahahaha and it was fun watching them marching and a mini bear culture.
Observation: I am having lots of fun during this exercise time.
Findings: I found that it is hard to draw it manually on paper as my bears are big and quite big in amount, so I decide to draw it digitally.

week 3 (23.1.2021)
Experience: For this week, I had showed miss my work for feedback, at first I am a little bit worried because I think my poster is too common that there are so many seniors that draw Poke ball, but I think it is the best way to express Pokémon. However, it turns out quite well because Ms. Anis think that it is clear and easy to understand. I was really happy.
Observation: As I am doing the exercise, I notice that my illustrator skill are improve and luckily of having class from last semester that I know how to use perspective tool to do this poster.
Findings:  I found that doing research and mood board slides is useful because it give you the big picture of how your final outcome would look like.
