This is the progression of my painting, I first roughly draw what would happen on the page itself and the overall layout, after then I try to draw a more detail version draft. Lastly, I colored it accordingly.
During the process, I did change some scenes to make it more interesting. For example, the little girl are suppose to land just in front of the old man house, but I think it is not so interesting, so I added some scene of the little girl exploring around the Sweetland to show the personality of brave.

This is how I place my painting in photoshop as I want to make sure the consistency of the painting and it is the same after I upload it to webtoon. I had the total of 12 pages at the end.

After I had send to Ms. Anis for feedback, he suggested me to put on the webtoon. I am really happy because my work can be seen to others, and I have 4 readers subscribe to the story.

There were also some readers comment on the story. Most of them like my art style and it means a lot to me because I really worked hard on this comic.
After we are done with our comic, We need to make motion comic with our comic.

I had done all my painting on Photoshop and I need to transfer it to After effect to make animation. I am really panic at this point because I am new to After effect. I separate all the pages to each photoshop file so that I could edit it one by one. You can't believe that I had spent around 2 hours to know how to import photoshop file to After effect.
1. you need to arrange all the layers like in Photoshop, better if u merge some layers that you will not be use for animating.
2. Import it into After effect by going to file > import > chose the file you want to import > make sure you change to composition and its done.
I took a long time on this because I didn't arrange my layers and I chose composition- retain layer size which all the elements are placed in the middle of After effect. And the duration of the layers only have 1 second and I don't know how to change it. I get really frustrated at this point because I tried a lot of time to extend the duration to at least 30 sec.

After all of that are solved, I started to make the animation. I want all the layers to move together at the same time, so the audience will still feel like they are reading the book but not anime. At first, I select all the layers and I tried move them and it is really hard because sometimes I will forget to select some layers, but I found a trick on that. There are a section of parent & link, I change all the layers to the background, so all the layers will move with the background.
I also discovered some tricks about after effect like puppet pin, masking and more in the progress. I had used around 3 days to do all the animation. I am really thankful of the extension of deadline for submission, or else I would not be able to finish it.

After I had done all the animation in after effect, I import them to premier pro to combine all the page videos together. I added some transition to make the motion comic more complete and smooth. After that I send to my friends for feedback, some of them think it is moving too fast and some of them think that I could make some adjustment on some pages. After that, I did some adjustment to make it smoother.
Last, I add some sound effect and background music to the motion comic. I found some sound effect of under water, beach, fell down sound, forest and more, so I hope that the audience could listen carefully to the video as I made some sound really soft to make it more realistic and detail.

week 12: Ms. Anis looked at my draft for my comic, she said that its good and she like that there' s no script and I can go ahead with this one.
week 14 : Ms. Anis looked at my final outcome for my comic, se said that it looks so cute and also looks like I enjoyed making this comic too. She suggested me to publish my comic onto webtoon. She said all the best and looking forward to see the motion version of that.
I also sent the webtoon link to some of my friends and they said they like the art style and it is really cute. The readers from webtoon also comment that they link my art style for this comic and they think its cute.
week 15: I sent my motion comic draft to some of my friends, Jing Wen said that some animation can come out before it appear and some of the scene are too fast and some of them are too slow. Tze Earn also said that some of the scene are too fast. Ms. Anis looked at my final outcome for my motion comic, she said that it is so nice.
REFLECTION
Experience: I really enjoyed doing this project because I tried a different art style and the outcome quite success. I always thought that this kind of children book illustration is easy to draw but it is not, it also require a lot of effort to produce it. I also want to say thank you to Ms. Anis for her feedback and the extension of deadline to help me produce a better version for my final outcome. Although I had spent a lot of time on it, but I think I am quite satisfied with the final outcome.
Observation: I noticed that After effect is a good software to make animation and it is not hard to use after you explore the tricks and get used to it.
Finding: I had explored the new software, Premier Pro in this project.
